Call me a hopeless romantic but Anu and Arun’s wedding day was one I’ll never forget. Over the course of our time working together, we laid the plans for their romantic and elegant celebration and had so much fun along the way.
The big day began with a ceremony at St. John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady featuring breathtaking stone work. As they walked down the aisle, beautiful music filled the air and Anu and Arun exchanged their vows in a stunning ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
The festivities continued at Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia which served as the perfect romantic location with its beautiful landscape. The room was a white and blush color palette that completed their soft and romantic look.
While planning their wedding, Anu had mentioned how much she wanted to incorporate sparklers. Unfortunately, at her rehearsal she had told me that she would no longer be doing it. Having heard her talk so fondly about incorporating this into her wedding reception I knew that we somehow had to make this happen.
After talking to my amazing team, we decided we would bring the sparklers to her. We drove for over an hour the morning of the wedding to find sparklers. However, with her wedding being so close after the Fourth of July the closest thing we could find were sparkler birthday candles! Luckily, the venue had sparklers on site.
After speaking with the photographer, Emely, at Sincerely Emelia Photography and letting her know about the plan to surprise Anu we informed the bridal party. We asked them to gather and we lit their sparklers. Emely and Shraddha positioned them as I brought the bride and groom outside.
This wedding was a testament to what can happen when everyone on the creative team comes together. I’ll never forget the look on Anu and Arun’s face as they came out and they saw their amazing friends and family waiting for them with their sparklers lit!
Once the couple came back inside, the guests danced the night away to the amazing music provided by the high energy DJ at Events by Cool Cat.
